Insulin Storage Environment
Insulin is highly sensitive to temperature. For long-term stability, it should be stored in a cool place between 2–8°C (36–46°F), away from direct sunlight, heat, or freezing conditions.
Once opened, most insulin pens or vials can be kept at room temperature (below 25°C / 77°F, depending on manufacturer guidelines) for a limited period, usually 28 days. Proper temperature control ensures insulin remains effective, safe, and reliable for use.
